Opening and closing the box is simple thanks to its reinforced lid with large built-in handle which can be used single-handedly. This combined with Thule's SlideLock securing system makes it incredibly simple to keep your belongings secure when on the road. Multiple locking points which secure the lid are released by the large sliding latch with red open indicator, these points automatically refasten when the box is closed, when all locks are refastened the red open indicator retracts letting you know its secure. An individual locking function for this slide lock uses barrel locks with included Thule Comfort Keys to stop the roof box from being able to open.

Mounting The Motion 3 L to your roof rack is simple, with 4 sliding claw clamps which can adjust to fit a range of roof bar types and roof rack widths. These PowerClick claw clamps are torque limited to ensure secure mounting by audible clicking off as they reach tension. The sliding clamps have an added bonus of allowing the roof box to be mounted forwards on your roof rack, reducing the chance of roof box and car boot contact.
